About Me

A graduate of the High School of Music and Art, majoring in art, and a graduate of Pratt Institute majoring in advertising design.

Upon graduation from Pratt I was employed in the advertising agency business as an art director. Agencies I worked for were Ketchum Mandabach, Ted Bates and Ogilvy Advertising. Major accounts I worked on were General Foods, Hertz, American Airlines, Fuji Film, and Dannon Yogurt.

As an eyewitness to the September 11 tragedy, my office being located in SoHo, just a short distance from the World Trade Center, I photographed the event concentrating on people witnessing the disaster. Several of these photos appear in this website and were published in "Here is New York" and "The September 11th Photo Project". Nine of the photos were chosen by The Smithsonian Institute for their permanent archive collection, and one was selected for permanent exhibit at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum to be located at World Trade Center Ground Zero.

Solo photo exhibits at the New York Historical Society, The African American Museum, Hewlett Woodmere Public Library, Freeport Memorial Library.

I see a photo in almost everything I see. The trick is to have a selective eye and capture the image of the moment. I consider myself a photographic voyeur, always seeking and selecting an impression that I can relate to and compose into a pictorial event, be it an object of natural beauty or a photojournalistic recording.

As a member of the Long Island Center of Photography I have had the opportunity to be in an environment with a talented group of serious and dedicated camera enthusiasts, giving me the chance to further explore the possibilities of one day capturing that all elusive "perfect image
".
